What inspired you in creating your performance "Home(lessness) Sickness"?

Sleeping people in public places. The illusion of disconnectedness that I perceived between their bodies and minds as a contrast to our over-connectedness in everyday life (the cell phones, the internet, the online networking tools etc). A sleeping person has an existence that is out of control and out of context, disconnected from the actual physical surroundings.

Exploration in public space

So I was searching for other disconnectedness in public space. One of the most flagrant ones for me was the performance of street musicians at the Paris subway. An awkward hit-parade outside concert halls and far from record companies. A displaced performance without real audience. I was captured by their sometimes desperate energy and their timid, but intrepid presence. On the other hand, as I was invited to do a solo for myself, I was confronted with the question of the interpreter as an author. The solo is largely based on performance materials that had occurred in my previous experiences as a performer, but had never really found their way to the stage. Thus these materials are also out of their initial context, but given an independent existence.
